Post Podcast Interview :: Kitty-Marie

This week's podcast is live, and I am so excited to have one of my favorite pole performers EVER, Kitty-Marie! Check out her podcast episode here, then read her amazingly thoughtful interview below...

Where did you grow up, and what is your current home town?
I grew up in Mantua, West Philadelphia which I have only recently been made aware that it’s one of the five poorest neighborhoods in the country, and became the first of five of Obama’s designated “promise zones” to help the families living below the poverty line there.  I went to high school in Salisbury, MD before moving back to Philadelphia for college at University Of Penn.

Can you share a favorite pole dance photo of yourself?
By George Gregorian at Believe Fitness Studio.

And a favorite non-pole-life photo?
2007: I had not told anyone in Nagasaki that I had been a stripper since childhood, and wouldn’t have dreamed of telling anyone. I figured I would never touch a pole again, and I was not around people who would see such activity as positive.

What’s your go-to pole move?
I call it a pinwheel. Taught to us by Vladimir Karakunov last year at Choreography House. It’s a simple flip, but so pretty and elegant with a variety of finishers, and I don’t need to be warmed up to do it. It’s impressive at the club when you finish in a split. It’s rather unexpected, and you don’t see it often.

Give us a sexy floorwork song.

(my answer when people say “u can’t twerk to rock n roll)

... and more!

What’s a YouTube pole dance video we should check out?
My favorite of the Retchlessness; mainly cuz he did a song that I LOVE!

Give us a song that makes you want to immediately strip off your clothes and jump on the pole.

... and more!
• Amy Winehouse: Amy Amy Amy
• Jamiroquai: Use the Force

Who should we follow on Instagram?
@Idancebot is me!

Show us an inspiring image.

I’m a comedian. This is for all those people who argue incessantly online. I no longer have a pole page, and I am content with simply IG. it gives me what I want; which is simply pole pics and vids. I have never had “beef” with ANYone on the internet. It’s the internet, and I’ve never met most of these people. I can’t get angry about someone’s difference of opinion online, especially if we have never even met lol.

People let that crap ruin their day. I don't have time to even care whether or not I care about most things I used to see pole people fussing about.

Who would you like to see interviewed on the Pole Parlour Podcast?
Have Steven Retchless or Josiah Grant been done yet? Note from Minxxxy: Check out Steven's podcast here, and I am keeping my fingers crossed for Josiah!

Damn, this was so good: thanks so much, Kitty-Marie! X
